Let me (re)introduce myself

Feminine Mysteries Oracle

Dear friends,

We are honored that you are here! That you're curious enough about this project to stick around through my changes.

Many of you have known me (Dawn) for some time. Some of you know me just though my emails and maybe you've attended a class or workshop with me. But you may only know this sliver of me (well, actually it is a big part of me, but not the only part). So I want to take you all back a step, and re-introduce myself. And Veronica.

I'm Dawn Leonard. You may know me from my business Sacred Rhythms where I helped women prepare for birth and motherhood. My business was largely informed by my experience of birthing 2 boys at home and the subsequent life and spiritual lessons I experienced through this female body - about nourishment, rage, containment, movement, breath, blood, love...

I've written blog posts on these subjects. Taught yoga classes. Witnessed births. Created a childbirth education course. Attended to you postpartum. Sat in circle with so many women.

And I painted.

In 2021 a new body of work slowly began to emerge from my watercolor practice. I was part of the Eve Gene exhibit at Center for Visual Artists (Greensboro, NC) in 2021. And in 2024 I created a piece for Art Prize in Grand Rapids, MI that displayed in the the Divine Feminine gallery.

While I do have a Bachelor of Fine Arts (with an emphasis in Graphic Design), my art has always been more of a hobby. I earn money from building websites and brands, and occasionally some printed materials. So this collaboration with Veronica is an exciting new chapter where I get to hone my skill at watercolor and develop a visual style for my art.

If you want to see the version of me for the past 15 years, check out my @sridawn Instagram account. You'll find a lot of talk about birth and motherhood, and some occasional art.

If you want to watch the progress of our deck, follow the @feminine.mysteries.oracle on Instagram.

In the next email you'll hear from Veronica. We've got so much exciting work ahead, so we hope you'll stick around!

Be bold,

Dawn & Veronica

Sacred Rhythms

I'm a perinatal yoga teacher, doula and childbirth educator. If you make space for me in your inbox, I'll whisper my heart-felt musings on the making of Mother Culture through mothering.

Feminine Mysteries Oracle Dear friends, I was listening to some reporting on the radio about Linsday Clancey and how this is bringing forward the conversation about maternal mental health. My friend Rachel used the word revenant which is generally defined as someone who returns (to life). That she "returned" to expose an invisible but systemic flaw so that we might root out the problem. In the radio piece the expert said that this highlights the fact that there is nothing specific in the DSM...

Feminine Mysteries Oracle Dear friends, [from Dawn] I’ve started writing emails to you a few times in the last couple of weeks and every time I get stuck because there’s something that needs to be said at the outset, but it feels like a hard thing to say because I could easily be misunderstood. I ask you to hear this with an open mind because I am saying it with an open heart. I’ve listened to a lot of people that I respect on this topic and I’ve tuned in to my inner sense of truth. I’m...

Feminine Mysteries Oracle Dear friends, Today, we will introduce you to Veronica: I’m Veronica, though some know me as Nomadic Oracle, Veronica Monique. I first picked up a tarot deck when I was seventeen out of pure curiosity. What I didn’t realize at the time was that tarot would become one of the tools that helped me better understand myself and the world around me. For as long as I can remember, I’ve been deeply sensitive to the emotions and energies of others. Tarot helped me develop...
